On Saturday September 2, 2017 starting at 9:00am, The Castle Hill Handball Association will host it’s 2nd Annual Boys and Girls Juniors Doubles “Stay In School” Handball Tournament at the beautiful courts of Castle Hill. Last years event was such an incredible success with over 75 participants receiving trophies and prizes. This year with the help of local government and businesses, Richie Vera intends to make this the premier Juniors event of the year. Not only will each participant receive a free backpack with school supplies, but also thousands of dollars in prizes will be awarded which include laptops, tablets, bicycles, trophies, and much more.
The Castle Hill Handball Association has hosted several successful events including the Battle of the Gladiators, and is continuously giving back to the community. Mr. Vera feels that getting students involved in outdoor sports, specifically handball will not only make the game flourish in the future, but will teach young people sportsmanship and team concepts which will carry over into their studies.
There will be several top players supporting the event by teaching the fundamentals of the game and also cheering and encouraging some of the younger participants.
